💕 Newborn & Family Sessions – Frequently Asked Questions

🤍 How long does a newborn session take?

Newborn sessions typically last around 2–3 hours, allowing plenty of time for feeding, settling, and cuddles. There’s never any rush — everything flows gently at baby’s pace.

🤍 When is the best time to book my newborn session?

The best time to book is while you’re still pregnant, ideally during your second or early third trimester. We’ll schedule your session for within the first 10–14 days after birth, when babies are sleepiest and most comfortable being posed.

🤍 What if my baby cries or doesn’t settle?

That’s completely okay — every session allows time for feeding, cuddles, and resettling. The studio is kept warm and calm, with soft lighting and gentle background sounds. I start with family portraits first, which helps baby relax before we move into individual photos.

🤍 What if my toddler doesn’t cooperate?

You’re not alone — nearly every parent worries about this! I use a playful, patient approach that lets little ones be themselves. There’s no pressure for perfection; it’s about capturing genuine connection and personality.

🤍 What should we wear?

Soft, neutral tones photograph beautifully — think creams, beiges, whites, and gentle pastels. I’ll send styling tips before your session to help you coordinate outfits that feel natural and timeless.

🤍 I don’t feel confident in front of the camera. Will that show?

Not at all. Most parents say this before arriving! I’ll gently guide you into natural, flattering poses and use beautiful light to highlight the emotion and connection, not imperfections. You’ll look and feel at ease.

🤍 Can siblings or grandparents join the session?

Yes, absolutely. Siblings are always welcome, and I’ll plan the flow so they’re photographed first, keeping things relaxed and enjoyable for everyone. Grandparents are also welcome if you’d like to include them in a few special shots.

🤍 What happens after the session?

Around 3–4 weeks after your session, you’ll receive access to your private gallery (or attend an in-person viewing) to see your finished portraits. You’ll be able to select your favourites and choose from digital images, collections, or printed artwork — whatever suits your family best.
